MG Rover 75

Ratings

4 stars

Summary

Recommended. The best car in the MG Rover range. While the 75 is stylish with classic lines, the sporty ZT model has plenty of equipment and a good turn of speed.

Review

There was a time when nobody would touch an MG Rover 75. However, the big saloon has undergone something of a renaissance - thanks partly to the arrival of the aggressively styled and fast ZT versions. The standard 75 has an elegance missing from German executive car rivals, with wood and leather harking back to a bygone age. The Tourer estate models are, surprisingly, even prettier and very practical indeed. ZTs are quick and handle well, although not everybody will like the in-your-face styling. There's even a racy ZT diesel version that offers the best of both worlds.
