Lexus GS (97 - 05)

Summary

Average. If you want refinement but can't afford the likes of a Mercedes, the GS 300 is worthy of consideration. It's extremely comfortable and packed with luxury equipment.

Review

Lexus is the luxury arm of the Toyota brand and firmly established as a well-priced, quality car-maker. GS 300 was one of the first models to be offered in the UK as a mid-size executive saloon to rival Mercedes and BMW. The 3.0 petrol engine is super smooth, working especially well with a standard automatic gearbox. The latest addition is the GS 430 - a powerful V8 version with an incredible turn of speed but thirsty performance. Standard equipment levels are very high, with air conditioning and leather trim all part of the package. Quiet, refined and understated.
