Daewoo Leganza

Ratings

2 stars

Summary

Not recommended. A big saloon but certainly not an executive car. Large and durably constructed but suffers poor driving dynamics and catastrophic depreciation.

Review

If losing value was an Olympic sport then the Leganza could represent Korea, and likely claim gold. Look beyond the depreciation and you'll find an utterly bland car: boring styling inside and out, inspid on-the-road behaviour and a sometimes crashy ride. The 2.0 engine is noisy when worked hard, although it does work quite well with the optional automatic gearbox when used for gentle progress. Standard equipment is excellent, all cars getting a veritable toyshop of electric goodies, and the build integrity is high, even though the cabin materials are low quality and plasticky. Excellent Daewoo warranty is by far the best part of the equation. But compared to the talents of a Mondeo or Laguna? It isn't even close to being close.
