Daewoo Lanos

Ratings

2 stars

Summary

Not Recommended. A big seller in the mid '90s, thanks to cheap package deals. Kia's family car is out of date these days, however, and needs a replacement.

Review

A stalwart of the Daewoo range, the Lanos has been around since 1995. Despite a number of special editions and minor cosmetic overhauls, it hasn't changed much either. It's OK to look at, and the 1.6 model is quite quick, but there's little else to impress. At least the price is low and the 1.4 SE has enough equipment to make it worth consideration. The more expensive Lanos models lose out to much better rivals. Depreciation is a major downfall - don't expect a lot for your secondhand Daewoo. The company's new Kalos supermini is a vastly superior car, with plenty more to offer.
