Recommended. Fiat's make or break car. First signs are good - it is the best looking Fiat hatch in a very long time and the dynamics are a big improvement, too.
Not Recommended. The ageing Seicento is still fun in sports guise, but well overdue for a facelift. A city car that flounders outside the urban environment.
Recommended. Large and sensible, Fiat's people carrier offers excellent equipment, tough build quality and painless dynamics.
Recommended. The best-driving people-carrier around, this multi-faceted vehicle is true value for money. Original weird looks have been toned down now.
Average. One of the alleged compact people carriers which is actually a van with windows. Painless to own and drive, but basic 1.2 petrol engine is chronically underpowered, making the 1.9 JTD the sensible choice.
Not recommended. Fiat's alleged Focus rival felt off the pace when it was introduced in 2001 - and the subsequent years have been anything but kind.
Recommended. Cheap, cheerful and occasionally cheeky.
Not recommended. A good Idea? Hardly. This is another cross between a supermini and an MPV, but it's too boring and too expensive to make any real sense.
Average. Sensible and practical transport, but without the quality or dynamics to be anything more than a segment also-ran.
Average. Quintessential hire car: quite roomy with good safety ratings, but getting long in the tooth now.
Average. It's got Italian design and Japanese engineering on its side - but is the Sedici really going to convince people to buy a supermini-sized SUV?
Recommended. Not the best in the class, but not the most expensive either, and the 150 T-Jet offers a tempting combination of style, performance and equipment.
